Paul Johnson

My name is Paul and I grew up in Fargo, ND.  In May of 2004, I opened my own shop—46 and 2 Tattoo. I wanted to create a tattoo shop that was a true reflection of my vision: I tattoo and that’s it. I wanted something tasteful and relaxing. Warm and welcoming. Stylishly comfortable… 46 and 2 Tattoo was born.  My tattooing influences started with Guy Atchison, Tom Renshaw, Jeff Gogue, Tom Strom, James Kern, Josh Carlton and has grown to many others in the tattooing world.  “Hey Paul, what does ‘46 and 2’ MEAN??” I’m glad you asked. I got the idea for the name from a song by the band Tool. “46 and 2” is described as a theory that the human body will, in the next evolutionary step, go from 46 chromosomes to 48 chromosomes and move us more in tune with nature.  Feel free to drop me an e-mail at or stop by the shop if you’d like to talk about the next step in the evolution of you.

Likes: celtic and tribal… I tend to lean more toward black and grey, but I enjoy color work too. I love anything technical.

Dislikes: Liver and onions. Yuck.

Personal Comment: I thoroughly love my “job,” if you can call it a job. The feeling of creating an everlasting impression on someone is beyond words. I enjoy the fact that every day brings something/someone new. There is never a dull moment.

Cliff Gustafson

My name is Cliff and I have been tattooing since 2005.  I would say my style is Black and Grey Horror, but I do like doing color tattoos as well.. I have been known to have magical powers in the form of cover-ups so if you got an old jacked up tattoo, I can help you make it go away or revamp an old tattoo into a gem..I do enjoy scary subject matter but can do pretty stuff as well, or so I've been told.. I like death metal and long walks in the grave yard.. So if you looking for some scary additions to your skin or wanna pretty up a patch of skin I might be the artist for you.. Thanks for looking and keeps it metal YARRRRRRR!!!!

Libby Tossey

I am honored to be a part of 46 and 2 tattoo; a reputable studio that exhibits professionalism and highly talented artists. I have been tattooing since 2011, after I attended college at MSUM majoring in drawing, art history, and ceramics. My formal drawing techniques and worldwide influences contribute to customizing my clients’ tattoos.

I love tattooing anything with high detail or organic subjects such as animals, bugs, flowers, foliage or birds; along with mandalas, geometric and illustrative styles. I am currently only booking for custom pieces so they are unique to each individual person. I am not booking for popular/trendy stock images such as infinities, bird silhouettes, dandelions, etc.  BUT I am more than happy to refer you to other artists that will be able to get you in a timely manner! :)

Adam Pape

Oh hi, I'm Adam. I have a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I started tattooing in 2014 and In 2016, I was fortunate to be invited to work with everyone here at 46and2 tattoo!

I do not have a particular "style" that I abide by but I do enjoy drawing, painting and making marks on the skin.  I am interested in doing anything that reflects this.  I do watercolor, sketchy, illustrative, and black and grey work.  I also super enjoy doing any small tattoos that you may have.  So do not be afraid to just send an Email letting me know your ideas!

Also If your idea is something you would rather have a consult for just give the shop a ring and set one up.

"Million" McGough

How's it going tattoo world?  My name is Michael but you can call me Million.

I have been tattooing professionally since 2002 and had the amazing honor of joining the 46and2 tattoo team in November of 2019.

I have a great deal of influences from people in all forms of visual art but realism tends to be the form I gravitate towards the most.

Born and raised in southeastern North Dakota has given me a strong work ethic and the focus to constantly improve myself.  I have had the privilege of learning from some of the greatest tattooers in the world which has provided me with a unique tool set and visual style that you may not find anywhere else.

So when you are ready, send me an email because I would like to work for you.
